URGENT!! Pediatric Nurse (RN/RPN) $38-50.00/hr. Weekend/Overnights

Job Description

We are urgently hiring for an experienced RN or RPN who is certified and has pediatric and infant respiratory/tracheostomy experience to attend to a 4 month old infant overnights on the weekends for at least two months. The position can start immediately for the right qualified candidate, with the opportunity to pick up other visits with clients as desired after this specific assignment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, other interdisciplinary team members
  • Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer, completing records accurately and carrying out all assignments as requested
  • Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
  • Perform all skills, treatments and procedures competently in accordance to the provincial scope of RPN and adheres to the policies, procedures and protocols of Nurse Next Door
  • Service a family OVERNIGHTS on Saturday and Sunday in Hawkesbury, ON for their 4 month infant who needs specialized tracheostomy care
  • Manage feeding tube and trach tubes for infant, including trouble shooting, suctioning and managing feeding schedules
  • Assess and provide client and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis
  • Assists infant with sleeping and feeding, hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth

Requirements:

  • Current Certification of Competence and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses (Registry #)
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Registered Nurses or Practical Nurses and at least two years of recent related experience in pediatric nursing, infant specific
  • 1-2 years hands on care in infant respiratory, tracheostomy and feeding tube experience as we have an urgent client that needs specialized care for a 4 month old infant
  • Trained to manage feeding and trach tubes including trouble shooting, suctioning and managing feeding schedules
  • 2 years of nursing experience required; three years minimum nursing experience preferred. Community, home health or medical/surgical experience preferred.
  • Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector check from OPP
  • Must be able to legally work in Ontario Canada to apply for this position
  • Vehicle/Valid driver’s license required and must be willing to travel to remote location
