Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care
  • Happier Aging is at the heart of what we do — enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible, doing what they love to do
  • Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer
  • Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
  • Help clients with their ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) that is within a scope of practice for a Registered Healthcare Aid
  • Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
  • Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
  • Service the Pembroke, Renfrew and surrounding rural areas

Requirements:

  • 1 year previous caregiving experience, 2 plus is preferred
  • Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset
  • Must have valid certification for PSW, DSW, HCA or foreign trained nurse
  • Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must be able to legally work in Ontario Canada to apply for this position
  • Valid driver’s license required and must be willing to travel to remote locations
  • Driver’s Abstract (provided by Nurse Next Door) is required if you own your own vehicle
  • Flexible availability: Shifts are 8 hours, overnight, Mon – Fri
