Registered Practical Nurse – Russell ON

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Delivers comprehensive professional nursing care, evaluating assessments and client needs
  • Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer
  • Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
  • Perform all skills, treatments and procedures competently in accordance to the provincial scope of RPN and adheres to the policies, procedures and protocols of Nurse Next Door.
  • Assess and provide client and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis
  • Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
  • Servicing the rural communities of Eastern Ontario. We are actively searching for RPNs in the Russell, Embrun and surrounding rural areas.
  • Looking for all visit times weekdays and weekends

Requirements:

  • Current Certificate of Competence and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses (Registry #)
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses and one year of recent related experience in gerontological nursing
  • 1 year of nursing experience required; three years nursing experience preferred. Community, home health or medical/surgical
  • Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset
  • Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Must be able to legally work in Ontario Canada to apply for this position
  • Valid driver’s license is required and willingness to travel to remote locations
  • Driver’s Abstract (provided by Nurse Next Door) if you own your own vehicle
